You can "bet your bottom dollar", if (or when) the pharmaceutical industry discovers a cure for Celiac Disease . . . 1 in 10 people will have it . . So they can cure it with their NEW & EXPENSIVE drug.

I've been reading a lot of stories about people who have CD and have been cured by eating totally Gluten Free . .Great. But in every case that I read about . . . when there was an incident and somebody lied, about the gluten content in their food, and they unknowingly ingested an entire portion of gluten . . THEY WERE FINE! If cross contamination and trace amount are so
important . . . why weren't these people who were HIGHLY SENSITIVE have any effects at all, on those ocassions?

hey can someone give me some advice? My symptoms are horrible cramp like pain in lower abdominals (slightly above hip area). Pain is on both sides. Ive been dealing with this for over 6 months.I had pizza and my pains got worse with that. Also I got pains in my throat, & heartburn type pain. Felt like i had pressure on my throat. I dont have problems other than that. Food leaves my body will. But then again I have been taking Align (digestive vitamin) as recommended by my last GI .

I started a gulten free diet 2 days ago but havent seen much improvement. I had a salad today at this one resturant and felt bad after having a normal salad with no signs of bread. Is gluten in dressings or on ham bits?

I dont know if I have CD or not.

My dad just got diagnosed with Celiac and the gastroenterologist told him that if he starts a gluten-free diet he'll probably start feeling better in two weeks time, but the process of full recovery can take months.

Ksizzlehere, have you been properly diagnosed with celiac? If not, you've got to be very careful about changing your diet, it can make the results of any tests that the doctor does to properly diagnose you, very unreliable.

thats what ive been reading. My appointment is on the 9th of July. So should I just keep with my old diet and keep eating gluten products until after i find out./?

I must also add that I have noticed some improvement eliminating bread from diet. Yesterday I had a burger which was my first gluten filled product in like 3 days and have been in pain since, but it has gone down some.
I dont want to be back in pain but then again I want the test to be reliable.
THanks for any additional thoughts.
